Pitch In Now

The plain-language version

Privacy Policy

Effective August 30, 2026

Pitch In Now collects only the information it needs to help people organize an event and pitch in.

Who runs Pitch In Now

Pitch In Now is operated by John Nunemaker in Indiana, United States. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “Pitch In Now” refer to the service and its operator.

Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account and organizer information: your email address, name, optional phone number, account name, and invitations to other organizers.
  • Event information: event names, descriptions, dates, headers, items, quantities, and other details an organizer adds.
  • Participant information: your email address, name, optional phone number, the items and quantities you choose, and any comments you leave.
  • Support information: anything you include when you contact us.

Information collected automatically

We collect limited technical information needed to operate, understand, and secure the service, including IP addresses, browser and device details, request logs, session identifiers, and email-delivery records. We use an essential signed session cookie to keep you authenticated and remember the account you are using.

We use Fathom Analytics for aggregate website statistics. Fathom does not use cookies. It briefly processes IP addresses and browser information to count visits using privacy-preserving hashes. We send templated routes instead of event IDs, public tokens, response-management tokens, or confirmation tokens, and we do not send event content, participant names, or participant email addresses to Fathom.

What other people can see

An event’s name, organizer name, description, schedule, items, and availability can be viewed by anyone who has its public link. These links are unlisted, but they are not private: anyone who receives one can open and share it.

Participant names, email addresses, optional phone numbers, selections, quantities, and comments are available to the organizers who manage that event. They are not shown to other visitors on the public event page.

How we use information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve Pitch In Now.
  • Authenticate users and deliver verification links and service messages.
  • Show organizers who has offered to help and what is still needed.
  • Respond to support requests and troubleshoot problems.
  • Prevent abuse, protect the service, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not currently sell personal information or use advertising or analytics cookies.

Services that help us operate

We share information with service providers only as needed to run Pitch In Now:

  • Railway hosts the application, database, and scheduled backups.
  • Cloudflare delivers transactional email.
  • Fathom Analytics provides privacy-friendly, aggregate website statistics without analytics cookies.
  • Google Fonts and Fontshare deliver typefaces to your browser and may receive technical information such as your IP address and browser details.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect people or the service, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or transfer of the service.

Retention, deletion, and backups

We keep information for as long as it is needed to provide and secure the service, meet legal obligations, or resolve disputes. Archiving an event does not delete it. You may ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information by emailing [email protected].

Production data is included in scheduled backups. Information deleted from the live service may remain in a backup until that backup expires or is replaced. We do not use backups to restore information that was intentionally deleted unless needed for disaster recovery, security, or legal reasons.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted connections, passwordless email authentication, access controls, and backups. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Children

Pitch In Now is designed for adults and community organizers and is not directed to children under 13. A child under 13 should not provide personal information through the service. If you believe a child has done so, email [email protected] so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the service changes. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date. For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected].
